The 3 Biggest Things We Learned From Warriors/Grizzlies Game 3

The Memphis Grizzlies imposed their will on the Golden State Warriors once again in Game 3 as they did in Game 2, frustrating Golden State's jump shooters with active defense and limiting the effectiveness of the Splash Brothers for three quarters. The Warriors would rally in impressive fashion late, but they dug themselves too much of a hole in an eventual 99-89 loss.

Here's The 3 Biggest Things We Learned From Warriors/Grizzlies Game 3.

1. The Warriors Need A Dose Of David Lee

Golden State's small ball advantage in this series has been neutralized the past two games by the active perimeter defense of Tony "First-Team All Defense" Allen and Mike Conley, which makes it all the more strange that David Lee was held out as a DNP -- Coach's Decision in Game 3. Lee is a proven commodity both in the block and as a mid-range shooter, and his length and scoring ability could help take the load off of Klay Thompson/Stephen Curry while giving the Dubs another body to bang down low with Marc Gasol & Zach Randolph.

2. It Isn't Broken, So The Grizzlies Aren't Fixing It

Watch five Grizzlies half-court possessions in a row, and all five will likely take 19-21 seconds will the ball running through ZBo and Marc Gasol from the baseline on in. Memphis' frontcourt duo was stellar on Saturday, combining for 43 points and 23 rebounds while opening up shots for the Grizzlies' shooters from the inside on out. Unless the Warriors can double more and invade the passing lanes, Memphis will likely stick with this same plan.

3. Defense To Offense Killed The Warriors

The Memphis Grizzlies (15) and Golden State Warriors (17) turned the ball over at a similar rate on Saturday, but Memphis took advantage of Golden State's miscues whereas the Warriors couldn't return the favor. The Grizzlies scored 22 points off of turnovers to the Warriors' 7 -- a +15 margin that ultimately proved the difference. Turnovers and points off of them dogged the Warriors early in the regular season, and the problem is once again rearing its ugly head in this series.
