Golden State Warriors vs. Phoenix Suns Preview & Prediction

The Golden State Warriors have grabbed a firm hold on the top spot in the Western Conference, and have won five of their last six games.

The Phoenix Suns are fighting for the final playoff spot in the conference and have won two of their last three games, but are coming off a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Projected Starting Lineups

Golden State Warriors (49-12)

G Stephen Curry – 23.6 ppg, 7.8 apg, 2.1 spg

G Klay Thompson – 21.7 ppg, 3.3 rpg

F Harrison Barnes – 10.3 ppg, 5.8 rpg

F Draymond Green – 11.6 ppg, 8.2 rpg

C Andrew Bogut – 6.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg

Phoenix Suns (33-31)

G Brandon Knight – 14.6 ppg, 5.0 apg

G Eric Bledsoe – 17.0 ppg, 6.0 apg, 5.5 rpg

F P.J. Tucker – 8.8 ppg, 6.3 rpg

F Markieff Morris – 15.2 ppg, 5.9 rpg

F Earl Barron – 1.5 ppg, 0.5 rpg

What to watch for:

Can Bledsoe & Knight compete with the Splash Brothers?

The backcourts are the unquestioned strength of each team, and the advantage goes to Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. However, Bledsoe and Knight are very good players in their own right, and if they can play well and give Golden State less of an advantage in this area, they'll give the Suns a chance to win.

Prediction: Warriors win 108-92

Phoenix is playing inspired basketball as they try to climb into the playoffs, but they just don't have the talent and firepower to keep up with Golden State.
