GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS FALL TO DENVER NUGGETS IN GAME 1 OF THE PLAYOFFS

The Golden State Warriors fell to the Denver Nuggets Saturday night, 95-97.

During the beginning of the fourth quarter, David Lee strained his right hip flexor. This sent him straight to the locker room after shooting free throws and he did not return.

Saturday’s playoff game was the first playoff game for many of the Warriors and their nerves seemed to have gotten the best of them. The Warriors have a young team, half of their players are 25 or under. Five of the fifteen players on the Warriors have been to the playoffs. Making this the first playoff game for ten of them.

Curry had a rough start at the beginning of the game. He went 1-10 in shooting, although later his shots began to fall and he ended the game with 19 points. The post season is different. These are the best teams in the NBA and they are bringing it all to the court. The Warriors need to step their game up and become the elite team that they are capable of being.

They need to focus on shutting down veteran Andre Miller. Miller ended the game with 28 points. Coach Jackson put Draymond Green in to bring his clutch defensive skills to the court in the final seconds of the game. Unfortunately Andre Miller was too quick for both Green and Bogut to stop, which lead to the Nuggets win by two points.

Defense is key. The Warriors are in the playoffs now, they need to bring it all to the court if they plan on making it to the second round.
