ALL EYES ON WARRIORS' CENTER ANDREW BOGUT'S ANKLE

Golden State Warriors newly acquired center, an injured Andrew Bogut came to the Warriors in May of 2012 in the trade that sent Warriors star Monta Ellis to the Milwaukee Bucks. He came to the Warriors with a fractured ankle and sat out for the rest of the season. Along with Bogut, Warriors point guard Stephen Curry sat out 40 games of the 66 games because of an injury. On April 27th Bogut had a successful surgery raising the spirits of Warriors fans everywhere because the Warriors finally gained a strong center ending the long-awaited search for a center. Andrew Bogut is the key to the Warriors success, and with Bogut, the Warriors have a chance of making the 2013 playoffs.

Bogut will be a good fit for the Warriors. That is if they have good chemistry. The sooner he comes back, the better. But we can’t rush him, rest that ankle up Andrew! We all know that he’s injury prone, so he can’t come back too soon. Bogut has been said to sit on the bench more than he plays on the court. His most recent injury was on January 25 when he fractured his ankle in Houston. During the 2009-2010 season he dislocated his elbow, broke his hand and sprained his wrist! And in 2008 he injured his lower back. So don’t rush Andrew, we don’t want Bogut to reinjure his ankle. So, please be ready!

On October 31, the Warriors will be playing the Phoenix Suns and be unveiling their prized player. Bogut’s ankle most likely wont be ready for training camp or the preseason games but he is said to be able to play for their first game. The fans will be waiting. He is the missing piece we have all been waiting for.

Bogut is a good addition to the Warriors roster. He’ll be able to play well with big man David Lee and they are both similar in the way that they play. Bogut is one of the leagues best passing centers and David Lee has proven that he isn’t too bad himself. It is essential that Bogut plays, and plays a lot. Bogut is 7 feet tall and 245 pounds, his size alone will give the Warriors an advantage. But his size isn’t his only strength. He averages 11.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.6 blocks. (NBA.com)

Bogut is important, very important. With no Bogut the Warriors are left with Andris Biedrins, or what used to be Andris Biedrins as their center. Nobody is sure exactly what happened to him, but he hasn’t played to his full potential the last few seasons. If you’re a Warriors fan, you know how Biedrins plays, and I’m not talking about his horrible free-throw shot. He has definitely been lacking since their playoff run.  Warriors drafted Festus Ezeli in the 2012 draft, but as a rookie the Warriors wont be able to count on him as a strong back up for Bogut. With a weak back up for center, Bogut has to stay as healthy as possible.

Bogut isn’t the only factor in the Warriors success. Stephen Curry needs to stay healthy. He also had surgery on his ankle. Curry has been back in the Bay Area getting ready for training camp and should be fully recovered by the time October comes around. Bogut and Curry both need to be healthy in order for the Warriors to succeed this year, but Curry played last year and although he was a dominant player, Bogut is the key component to the Warriors success. The Warriors as well as the Warriors’ fans have put a lot of pressure on Bogut for this upcoming season. He is extremely important for the Warriors this year… maybe too important.
