3 Things We Learned From Game 2 Of The Western Conference Finals

The Golden State Warriors survived a late Rockets rally and a huge night from James Harden to take a commanding 2-0 series lead, adding to what has proven to be an exciting series. Here's what we learned from Game 2:

1) This is a series of major runs

Golden Sate recovered from a slow start to overcome a 15-point deficit to win Game 1, and while Houston was down 17 points early in Game 2, they also found a way to come back and take the lead at the start of the third quarter. Both teams create most of their offense off of turnovers and three-point shots, and those two factors usually compound on each other in one direction or the other. This trend of massive runs and counter-runs will undoubtedly continue for the rest of series, meaning no lead is ever safe.

2) James Harden and Stephen Curry will duel every game

Curry was the star of Game 1 with 34 points, six rebounds, and five assists, but Harden wasn't far behind with 28 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists, and four steals of his own. The top two MVP candidates continued their showdown in Game 2 as both sides led their squads with 33 and 38 points, respectively. It's been a lot of fun to watch these two stars try to one-up each other every trip down the floor, and it looks like something we can look forward to all series.

3) If Andrew Bogut plays well, the Warriors won't lose

While Harden is obviously Houston's leader, they rely on Dwight Howard to have a big impact on the game as well. However, when Andrew Bogut can neutralize Howard's production, it gives Golden State a major advantage having a role player essentially cancel out an opponents' star. If Bogut continues to play this well, Houston will be lucky to win a game.
