Friday, September 1st:
After starting the season ranked No. 7 and No. 10 in the South, respectively, the Tech men’s and women’s cross country teams traveled to the Jacksonville State Open to kickoff their season. The men finished first overall, with an average time of 15:20.06 in the 5K. The women, not to be outdone, also finished first, with an average run of 14:45.14 in the 4K. Year-over-year, the team’s times in their first meet are lower, and, with the nice influx of talent over this summer, especially on the women’s side, both teams look primed for a nice stride forward from their seasons a year ago.
