After looking strong against the rest of the southeast all season, the Tech men and women sputtered to disappointing 8th place and 12th place finishes, respectively, at the ACC Championships on Friday. Senior Nahom Solomon finished in fourth overall, a bright spot, with the second-best ever Georgia Tech ACC Championship time, a best time of 23:21.2. Fighting through the middle of both the men’s and women’s fields in crowded competition, the meet could certainly have gone better for both slates of runners. However, the Jackets get two weeks to prepare before heading back to Tuscaloosa, where they’ve had success already this season, with the women having won the Crimson Classic earlier this season.
