Former USC Trojans defensive back Lamont Simmons is headed to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Georgia Tech confirmed the addition on the football program’s official Twitter page.
Defensive back Lamont Simmons, a native of Jacksonville, FL, has transferred from USC. He'll be eligible as a redshirt sophomore in 2016.

A former three-star recruit out of William M. Raines High School in Jacksonville, Simmons chose USC over offers from Georgia Tech, Arkansas, Auburn, Michigan State, East Carolina and Wisconsin, among many others. He took a redshirt last year and while no reason for his transfer was given, it likely had to do with being on the lower end of the Trojans’ depth chart.
