When, you may ask, is a home game NOT a home game? The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will probably find that out soon enough. It was announced Monday that Georgia Tech will open the 2017 season against the Tennessee Volunteers on Monday, September 4th in Atlanta.
But the game will not be at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Instead, it will take place at the new stadium being built for the Atlanta Falcons:

Even though it won’t be a true home game, head coach Paul Johnson is still grateful to be playing in the same city:
“Playing an SEC team in the non-conference is important…we’re grateful for the opportunity to play them in our backyard.
