Technical Tidbits 9/16: Point guard Jose Alvarado commits to Tech, DE KeShun Freeman honored for community service

Georgia Tech head coach Josh Pastner picked up the biggest commitment of his brief tenure last night when New York point guard Jose Alvarado chose Tech over offers from two other finalists in Rutgers and Seton Hall. Alvarado, a three-star prospect with a very solid all-around game, will hopefully solidify Tech’s point guard spot beginning with his freshman season in 2017. Guard play has been a virtual black hole for Tech since the departure of Trae Golden a few years back, and even he was simply an island between stretches of subpar guard play dating back to the tail end of the Hewitt days.
