Paul Johnson, noted purveyor of ideas that make too much sense to actually be implemented by the NCAA, left us with yet another suggestion at last week's ACC Kickoff event: to expand the College Football Playoff from four to eight teams. Though Johnson is hardly the first to suggest such a change, he is one of the first college coaches to speak out against the somewhat subjective current format. The biggest issue with expanding from four to eight teams is that it would require an additional game for the two championship teams, pushing the metaphorical maximum from fourteen under the current agreement to fifteen.
