The return of players to campus also brought a few recruits to Atlanta, as the NCAA in-person recruiting dead period finally expired after over a year. Coaches and players had to become well-acquainted with Zoom and other video conferencing platforms to effectively recruit the class of 2021 (and even 2022 & 2023), as campuses weren’t open for sanctioned visits. With the team’s performances on the field, it likely was a little more difficult for the Georgia Tech coaching staff to make connections with recruits virtually, the personal connections and spirit of Tech’s campus are what makes it great, not an online tour.
