Georgia Tech baseball got off to a phenomenal start to its weekend series with No. 3 Miami on Saturday, defeating the Hurricanes by a final score of 12-1 at Russ Chandler Stadium. It was a seven-inning gem by ace Brandon Gold which allowed Tech, 31-15 (11-11 ACC), to escape with the massive win. Unfortunately, the Jackets were unable to capitalize on the momentum, falling by a final score of 12-2 yesterday in a game which truly highlighted Tech's starting pitching issue -- starter Cole Pitts was able to go just two innings before being pulled by coach Hall.
