The 2017 Chick-fil-a Peach Bowl challenge wrapped up play on Wednesday, which likely slipped under your radar because it was carried out in secret, or because no one really talks about it until it gets aired on television three months later. (ESPN, August. Yes, really.) Four time winners Paul Johnson and Jon Barry finished T-11th out of 15 teams, their worst showing in their ten years representing Georgia Tech. That still netted them a prize of $22,500 for the Institute, with Barry earning an additional $5,000 for winning the Long Drive challenge in the Celebrity Division. Those numbers bring Tech’s total winnings over the 11 years of the event to $765,000.
