Georgia Tech baseball dropped its third-straight ACC series to open up the 2017 conference slate over the weekend, losing two of three games to Wake Forest up in Winston Salem. The pair of losses, coming on Saturday and Sunday after an extra-innings win on Friday night, kicked the Jackets all the way down to 3-6 in the conference and 13-9 overall on the season with the brunt of the ACC’s best teams still to come. For the second week in a row, we saw Georgia Tech avoid a sweep by the skin of their teeth — last weekend’s only win came in 12 innings against North Carolina and this weekend it came in 11 against Wake Forest.
