This article is a great example of how much progress Tech football coach Geoff Collins has made in revitalizing the image of Georgia Tech and increasing its appeal to local talent. Understandably, it was especially difficult for Paul Johnson to recruit local talent given the offensive system he ran and his approach to recruiting. With the more “pro-style” offense that Collins has installed and his efforts to redefine Tech and its program as being at the center of the Atlanta football world (and, hence, the center of the college football world), the program has been able to recruit its best class in years.
