Technical Tidbits 11/17: Butker approaches all-time scoring record, basketball moves to 2-0

Now in his final season as a Yellow Jacket, four-year starting kicker Harrison Butker is now just 11 points shy of Tech’s all-time scoring record. We’ve known how good Butker is for quite some time, but the fact that he’s now a dozen points away from outscoring every other player in Georgia Tech history is a statistic that has largely flown under the radar. He has three more games — versus Virginia and Georgia in the regular season and then the bowl game — to achieve the goal, and he really should do it quite handily. Tech just needs to score 12 touchdowns over that span, assuming a made PAT for each, and we will have a new leading scorer to replace former kicker Luke Manget.
