It’s clear that the team is not where Coach Johnson, the players, or anyone else wanted them to be right now sitting at 3-4, and there are numerous reasons why the record isn’t better. Notably, Tech’s special teams have not really improved at all from 2017’s disaster, even though the coaches identified special teams as an area where Tech would be better this year. The new defense has not come along as quickly as some in the fanbase want it to, but the 16 turnovers forced is a nice change from the previous defensive regime. All in all, more is needed from every player who steps onto the field if the team is to bounce back and make a bowl game this year.
