SS/RHP Oscar Serratos turns down Cleveland Indians, will enroll at Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech’s upcoming baseball recruiting class received a nice boost yesterday afternoon when top shortstop prospect Oscar Serratos announced that he had turned down the Cleveland Indians in favor of pursuing a career in ACC baseball on the Flats. Serratos was selected by the Indians in the 14th round of the MLB Draft, No. 432 overall, back in early June.

Serratos becomes one of a handful of 14th-round picks who elected not to sign with MLB franchises. He may well have received a nice offer from Cleveland, but it appears that he likely made his intentions to attend Tech clear even before the MLB Draft.
