Notre Dame win earns Gregory $3,000 bonus

Georgia Tech’s win over No. 19 Notre Dame Saturday night was undoubtedly a satisfying result for coach Brian Gregory and the Yellow Jackets, a prize for his team’s perseverance through a difficult season. It also netted the coach a $3,000 bonus.

The “exemplary performance” section of Gregory’s contract has a clause that enables him to earn an extra $3,000 for winning any of five games selected by athletic director Mike Bobinski. The Notre Dame game, won 63-62 by the Yellow Jackets on guard Marcus Georges-Hunt’s buzzer beater, was the last of the five games chosen by Bobinski for this season, detailed in a letter to Gregory obtained by an open records request.
