We’ve hit the halfway point of the 2017 MLB season, meaning that it’s time for the finest of Tech alumni to showcase their skills in the All-Star game — or just to get a few days rest.
The big Georgia Tech story to watch will be that of Colorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon, who will represent the Institute in both the Home Run Derby and the All-Star game. Blackmon, who spent the 2008 season playing for Danny Hall at Tech, is having a monster season in the Mile High City, batting .320 with 19 homers and 60 RBIs at the season’s midpoint.
