Marcus Georges-Hunt’s professional journey begins

Former Georgia Tech star Marcus Georges-Hunt will take his shot at the NBA beginning Saturday as a member of the Brooklyn Nets’ summer league team. The team will play three games in Las Vegas.

Georges-Hunt was signed to the Brooklyn roster after he wasn’t selected in the 60-player draft June 23. He’s one of five players on the 13-man roster who is coming straight from college.

The route from summer-league signee to the NBA is treacherous. A likely path for Georges-Hunt would be to go to training camp with the Nets, and, presuming he doesn’t make the roster, play in the D-League or possibly go to Europe.
