Georgia Tech moved to 2-0 on the young basketball season with a 77-62 win over Southern University on Monday night.
The Jackets and Jags traded baskets in the opening minutes of the game, with the Yellow Jackets turning the ball over nine times and struggling on the boards. Southern was down just a point midway through the first half. But Tech would close the half on a 19-4 run fueled by Tadric Jackson’s 13 first half points and head into the locker room with momentum.
But in the second half, Southern would go on a 10-0 run to cut the Tech lead to seven in the midst of a five-minute scoring drought for the Jackets.
