A Gwinnett, Ga., judge ruled against the development of a plan to reunite former Georgia Tech football star Recardo Wimbush and his wife, Therian, with their 10 children, according to Steve Visser of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Now, the state can work toward removing their parental rights and place the children with relatives.
The case began last June, when social workers investigated a claim that the Wimbush's oldest child had been "imprisoned" in a basement room for months, per Visser's report.
"They are very much parents who want to help their kids, who love their kids," psychiatrist Sarah Vinson told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
