Johnson says Tech’s A-back group is deep

Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson said none of the A-backs, save Clinton Lynch, are standing out in camp, but that he knows the position is deeper than it was last year.

“We’ve probably got 5-6 guys that can play like normal, like it was before last year,” Johnson said.

The team returns 89 percent of the A-back touches from last season, a contrast to the 2015 season when just 15 percent returned.

This year’s group is headlined by Lynch, who rushed for 457 yards and five touchdowns last year.
