The Javaris Crittenton saga has come to an end. In a report by Atlanta’s WSBTV, the former NBA player and Georgia Tech star has pleaded guilty to murder in the 2011 shooting death of Julian Jones, a mother of four.
An emotional Crittenton called the shooting a “horrible accident.”
Prosecutors claimed that the alleged gang member had been aiming for a man who had robbed him days earlier.
As part of his pleading guilty, he will spend 23 years behind bars.
A 6-foot-5 guard, Crittenton spent one season with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and averaged 14.
