Georgia Tech defeated Alcorn State by a score of 41-0 to kick-off the 2018 season. As was expected, the outcome was never in doubt, as Tech’s defense dominated from the first snap. This was our first look at the new 3-4 scheme under Defensive Coordinator Nate Woody, and it is safe to say they are off to a good start. They were able to hold Alcorn State to only 147 total yards and force three turnovers on the day.
Meanwhile, the Jacket’s offense was slow out of the gate. Outside of great play from B-backs Jordan Mason and KirVonte Benson early on, the offense made a number of mistakes including two turnovers.
