Georgia Tech Football Spring Game: Standouts on the Jackets offense

Heading into the spring game, the quarterback competition was much alive. After it, however, Lucas Johnson seems to have put a good amount of distance between himself and the rest of the quarterback room.

Johnson had a terrific spring game, completing 12-of-16 passing attempts for 87-yards and one touchdown. Johnson proved to be accurate and showed off some quality arm strength on several passing attempts. He’s not a perfect quarterback by any means but at this point he is certainly the best option right now on the Jackets roster. Barring an injury or a horrendous fall camp, Johnson will be the Jackets starting quarterback come August 29th when the Jackets take on Clemson.
