Georgia Tech Football Recruiting: OL Joshua Black is Commit #11

Georgia Tech snapped a month-long recruiting dry spell yesterday with the commitment of offensive lineman Joshua Black, the team’s eleventh commit for the 2019 recruiting cycle.

Black, a 6-foot-4, 270-pound tackle out of Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain, chose Tech over reported offers from Tennessee, Louisville, South Carolina, and number of other schools. He is the first recruiting triumph of new defensive line coach Jerome Riase, who came over from Wofford with defensive coordinator Nate Woody earlier this offseason.

Black is now the second offensive line commitment of the class, joining follow tackle Larry Dowdy. Both he and Dowdy come at an opportune time for the Jackets, with Andrew Marshall, Will Bryan, and other key linemen departing after this season plus Parker Braun and Jahaziel Lee heading off after 2019.
