One of two commitments out of Rome, Geogria, Tijai Whatley is one of three running backs that joined the program from the 2018 recruiting class and the second highest ranked. The three-star recruit out of the Darlington School was ranked as top-1,200 player in the country as well as a top-100 player with the athlete designation according to 247Sports.
At 6-foot-2, 195-pounds, Whatley presents a great option for the Yellow Jackets in what will be a loaded backfield for years to come. Whatley in high school lined up all around the offense, really showing off versatility which for the Yellow Jackets is invaluable especially as an A-Back.
