Georgia Tech Football: Ken Whisenhunt no longer a candidate for head coaching job

Georgia Tech’s next head football coach will not be Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Whisenhunt has withdrawn his name from his consideration.

Whisenhunt was considered the front-runner for the job since Paul Johnson announced he was stepping down last Wednesday. It was reported on Tuesday that Johnson received an offer but all was quiet since then.

Los Angeles OC Ken Whisenhunt has removed his name from consideration for the Georgia Tech HC job, per source, and will remain with the Chargers.

Now that Whisenhunt has withdrawn his name, a potential front-runner to look out for is Temple head coach Geoff Collins who has been a hot name in the search as of the last few days.
