One of the glaring positives from the Jackets loss to 52-14 was the positive play of the Jackets secondary.
The Jackets secondary play shouldn’t come as a shock. Entering he season, the secondary was considered a strength of the Jackets defense and team overall. Additionally, head coach Geoff Collins is a secondary coach by trade and works with the secondary personally.
That work payed off in game one for the Jackets as they shut down Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence on Thursday night. Lawrence in the game struggled against the Jackets secondary that played mostly press coverage and kept most of Clemson’s stable of wide receivers in check.
