Georgia Tech Football in the NFL: Former Jacket Morgan Burnett signs with Steelers

Former Georgia Tech football star safety Morgan Burnett has found a new home. The former Yellow Jacket (2007-2009) signed a three-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday, leaving the Green Bay Packers in the process. Morgan had spent the last eight seasons in Green Bay, the Packers and Morgan couldn’t come to any contract agreement leaving him as one of the top free agents entering this off season.

The former third-round pick was drafted in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft after forgoing his senior season on The Flats. During his Georgia Tech career, Burnett earned multiple accolades including ending up on The Sporting News’s 2007 All-ACC Freshman Team, multiple 2008 All-ACC First Teams, as well as Pro Football Writers’ 2009 All-American First Team squad.
