Georgia Tech Football: Former Yellow Jacket Ken Whisenhunt to interview for head coaching job

Todd Stansbury is ready to interview his first candidate for Georgia Tech’s open head football coaching job. According to ESPN’s always reputable Adam Schefter, former Yellow Jacket, and current Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt will interview for the job over the weekend.

The report comes just one day after ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg tweeted that Whisenhunt was Tech’s top candidate to replace Paul Johnson who is retiring for now following 11 seasons with the program.

Whisenhunt would be an interesting choice to take over the program. The former tight end has had a good deal of success in the NFL as an offensive coordinator but in his two stints as a head coach in Arizona and Tennessee has collected an overall record of 48-71.
