First up in today’s 2018 player recaps is backup quarterback, Ryan Lantz. Lantz, a native of North Palm Beach, Florida was a scout team quarterback for the Jackets this season. Coming in with the 2017 recruiting class, Lantz was an All-Area honoree in high school while putting together a considerably strong high school career at Suncoast Community High School.
As a walk-on quarterback, Lantz has not seen the field in either of his two seasons on The Flats but instead has been part of the Jackets scout team. A pro-style quarterback coming out of high school, the Jackets new offensive system under head coach Geoff Collins and offensive coordinator Dave Patenaude may be a better fit for the Florida native and it will be interesting to see how he performs in the spring within the system.
