Coming out of high school, Jamal Golden was an athlete. At Wetumpka High School, Golden played in every facet of the game. On offense, Golden was the star quarterback who accounted for 3.477 yards and 37 touchdowns. On defense, Golden was a cornerback, not to mention he was also the team's primary kick and punt returner. Playing all of these different positions, Golden led his team to the Class 6A area championship as a senior.
