ATLANTA (AP) Georgia Tech and Boston College will open the 2016 season in Ireland.
The announcement was made Thursday by Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny and other officials during a news conference in Dublin.
The Atlantic Coast Conference game will be played Sept. 3, 2016, at 51,700-seat Aviva Stadium.
It will mark the ninth college football game played in Ireland. Most recently, Penn State defeated Central Florida 26-24 at Dublin's Croke Park last season.
