According to both Collegiate Baseball and Perfect Game, Georgia Tech's incoming freshman class is ranked as the fourth-best in the country, the highest ranking the team has reached since it's No. 1 class in 2002.
Collegiate Baseball has Tech's class at the top of the ACC while Perfect Game ranks them second behind North Carolina (the Yellow Jackets' football opponent this weekend).
Headlining the class would have been Tyler Stephenson, a catcher from Kennesaw Mountain High School, but he was selected with the 11th overall pick in this year's MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds. So instead, the class is headlined by right-handed pitcher Jonathan Hughes, who was a second-round draft pick by the Baltimore Orioles who elected to come to Tech.
