For most of Wednesday night’s game between Georgia Tech and Georgia State, it was a pitching duel. Georgia Tech right-hander Ben Schniederjans and Georgia State righthander Bryan White exchanged scoreless innings through the first five innings.
Schniederjans turned in one of his best outings of the year pitching seven shutout innings for the Jackets. In his seven innings of work, Schniederjans allowed just three base runners, all through hits, and struck out four. Head coach Danny Hall called Schniederjans performance on Wednesday “the best performance since he’s been here” during a post-game interview.
Once Schniederjans was lifted from the game after seven innings, both Keyton Gibson and Micah Carpenter pitched shutout innings to close the door for the Jackets.
