Kyle McCann will begin his professional baseball career in the upcoming days as the star catcher signed with the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday.
McCann, a superb power hitter was a fourth round draft pick of the Athletics in last week’s 2019 MLB First-Year Player Draft. He was one of seven Yellow Jackets drafted, tying for the program’s most in one draft this decade. Out of those seven draftees, five of them were expected to sign. Yesterday, Connor Thomas also signed with the St.Louis Cardinals.
1B Tristin English (third round – Arizona Diamondbacks), RHP Xzavion Curry (seventh round – Cleveland Indians), and INF Chase Murray (13th round – Pittsburgh Pirates) are still expected to sign in the upcoming days or weeks.
