Georgia Tech Baseball: Joey Bart wins ACC Player of the Year, named Semifinalist for Golden Spikes Award

If you couldn’t tell by now, Joey Bart is without a doubt one of the best player to ever come through the Georgia Tech baseball program.

The Buford, Georgia native on Monday was named the ACC’s Player of the Year, becoming the fifth Yellow Jacket to ever win the award and the first since Mark Teixeira in 2000. Bart this season hit .368/.481/.651 with 16 home runs and 38 RBI. His hitting slash and home runs were both career highs while he fell short of his career high in RBI.

Despite only having 38 RBI this season, Bart was a menace at the plate for opposing pitchers who gave Bart over the course of the season 41 free passes.
