Georgia Tech Baseball: Jackets drop series opener to Duke

A three-run seventh inning wasn’t enough for the Yellow Jackets to overcome the Duke Blue Devils on Friday night. The Blue Devils who went scoreless for the first half of the game scored all seven of their runs in the final four innings.

Xzavion Curry pitched 5.2 innings allowing four runs on nine hits and three walks while striking out six. For Curry, the first four innings were rather quiet, just surrendering one run. In the fifth inning, Curry began to get overwhelmed allowing two runs on three hits. The true freshman would allow another run in the sixth inning before being lifted for Jared Datoc.
