Georgia Tech (12-5) hosted ACC foe North Carolina (14-5) Saturday, in a game that took a dozen innings to decide.
The Tar Heels came into the game ranked No. 9 in the nation, and in the end it was a walk-off two-run homer in the 12th inning from junior first baseman Kel Johnson that gave the Yellow Jackets a 4-2 win, and moved Tech to 2-3 in ACC play.
Carolina beat Tech 6-5 on Friday when the Jackets fell short in a comeback effort, but on Saturday the bullpen held it together late, and clutch hitting put Danny Hall’s squad over the hump.
