Former Georgia Tech safety Demond Smith was unable to participate in the team’s pro day after suffering an apparent hamstring injury while running the 40-yard dash.
Smith was treated after falling to the ground past the finish line at the Brock indoor facility. Having not played in a pre-draft showcase game, Smith was one who could have particularly helped himself with a good showing both in the testing and in position drills.
It’s conceivable that, once healthy, Smith could invite scouts back to Tech for a private workout.

“I felt really bad for Demond out here,” coach Paul Johnson said.
