Better practices this week for Jackets, but game’s the thing

Following his team’s lackluster win over Boston College in the season opener, Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson has liked what he has seen in practice this week. However, he acknowledged that how his team practices may have limited meaning.

“I think it’s been better, but camp was good,” Johnson said Wednesday following the team’s third practice of the week. “Practice has not been that bad. What we’ve got to do is carry it over to the game.”

In the 17-14 win over the Eagles in Dublin, the Yellow Jackets scored fewer than 20 points in an ACC game for the first time since the 2013 season, ending a 21-game streak of league games with 20 points or more.
