The No. 21 Arizona State Sun Devils could be missing a key player when they take the field Saturday against Utah.
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, starting quarterback Sam Leavitt has been downgraded to doubtful for the matchup at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. Leavitt was originally listed as probable earlier in the week and has taken a step back as kickoff approaches.
6th Year Senior
If Leavitt is unable to play, Jeff Sims is expected to step in for the Sun Devils.
Sims is a sixth-year senior who has seen time at both Georgia Tech and Nebraska before transferring to Arizona State.
