BOONE, NC – The Panthers (17-30, 6-12 Sun Belt) defeated the Mountaineers (22-23, 3-13 Sun Belt), 7-5, in the series finale after a late rally in the eighth. This is the fourth time this season the Panthers have won in extra innings.
Emily Brown and Ashton Schroyer continued to excel this weekend, Brown went 3 for 4 and Schroyer 3 for 5. The senior and freshman outfielders both had a web gem in the outfield for crucial outs in late innings.
Down 0-2 in the third and bases loaded Chloe Nadler came up and was hit by the pitch that walked in Middlebrooks.
