NEW ORLEANS - Peyton Worsham is this week's Community Coffee Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week after recording two impressive outings in the circle against Sun Belt-foe South Alabama over the weekend.
Worsham went 2-0 in two starts against South Alabama, who was receiving top-25 votes in both major collegiate softball polls. In the series opener on Saturday, Worsham came just one strike away from a no-hitter, giving up her first hit with two outs in the seventh. She earned the complete-game shutout with five strikeouts and just one walk. Worsham got the start again on Sunday and led the Panthers to a series sweep with another strong performance, going 5.
