ATLANTA — In their first home action of the season Georgia State Women's Tennis made their debut in the win column, handling in-state rival Mercer by a final score of 4-1.
The visitors jumped out to an early advantage in doubles play, stealing a win on court one. Playing on court three, and held off their counterparts, 7-5, leaving court two as the deciding match. and were trailing 6-5 when court three went final, but they secured back-to-back sets for a dramatic victory and a point for the Panthers.
Earning the Panthers' first singles point of the season, made quick work of her opponent on court three, winning 6-2 and 6-1 in straight sets.
