ARLINGTON, Texas – Taking on UT Arlington Saturday, Georgia State’s women’s basketball team was defeated 62-57 by the Mavericks at the College Park Center.
Georgia State tied the game twice in the final minutes, but the Mavericks held on to hand GSU the road loss.
Janessa Murphy’s 14 points led the Panthers on offense and the guard also added seven rebounds. Juliet James finished with a career-high 17 rebounds and Madison Newby missed a double-double by just one assist, totaling 13 points and nine assists.
The Panthers shot the ball well at 40%, but committed 18 turnovers.
